DWU women finish 10th at Briar Cliff XC InvitePublished by
NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. The Dakota Wesleyan University men s and women s cross country teams competed at the Briar Cliff Invite Saturday in North Sioux City, S.D., with the women s team finishing in 10th place. The women were led by sophomore Skyler Forgey (Colome, S.D.) who finished the race in 19 minutes, 53.79 seconds for a team-best 35th. Junior Nicole Court-Menendez (Lewiston, Maine) was second best for the Tigers with a 61st-place performance in a time of 21:02.57. Sophomore Jessica Nieses was 64th, while freshman Morgan Aughenbagh (Huron, S.D.) and freshman Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) finished 80th and 91st, respectively. As a team, the women totaled 268 points, seven behind the University of Sioux Falls. The event was won by Morningside College with 34 points and four of the top five finishers. For the men, sophomore Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) finished 32nd to lead the Tigers with a time of 26:43.49, while sophomore Jeremiah Panec (Kenesaw, Neb.) finished 54th in 27:13.81. Sophomore Kellen Willet (Lincoln, Neb.) was 56th with a time of 27:18.92. The men did not post a team score.
