SIOUX FALLS, S.D. The Dakota Wesleyan University men s and women s track and field teams competed at the Vance Butler Invitational Friday at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The DWU women got a fifth place finish from junior Skylar Forgey (Colome, S.D.). She crossed the line in the women s 800 -meter run in a time of 2 minutes, 24.27 seconds. The women got a 15^th-place performance in the 400-meter hurdles from sophomore Jessica Neises (Madison, S.D.), who completed the race in 1:16.24.

In the field events for the women, senior Abby Fossum (Canton, S.D.) took 14^th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.57 meters, while freshman Courtney Albers (New Underwood, S.D.) was 14^th in the javelin with a distance of 21.52 meters.

On the men s side, freshman Scott Van Winkle (Tyndall, S.D.) placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.52 seconds. He was also 12^th in the 200 meters in a time of 22.52 seconds. Freshman Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) added a 14^th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:12.86.

Freshman Dakota Bodden (Tyndall, S.D.) jumped 5.58 meters and took 17^th in the long jump for DWU, while freshman John Dosch (Sioux Falls, S.D.) was 20^th with a leap of 5.01 meters.

Junior Nicole Court-Menendez (Lewiston, Maine) traveled to Fayette, Mo., for the Central Methodist Invite to compete in the race walk for DWU on Friday. She set a personal best time 26:38.18 and placed fourth in the event, while also qualifying for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships later this spring.

The DWU track and field teams compete at the Northwestern College Invitational April 10-11 in Orange City, Iowa.
